The practice of everyday living
Hosta Designs offers simple objects for the home that engage their environment and offer calm to a busy family life. The designs contemplate the practices of everyday living: serving others, offering comfort, organizing, and cyclical movements.
The objects seek to find space in daily routine, in any room of the house.
Locally sourced materials:
All products are machine and hand made in Ann Arbor, Michigan. And made from locally sourced Michigan hard woods such as maple, walnut and cherry. Each item is finished with eco-friendly, kid-friendly, food-grade oil and wax treatment.
Owner and Designer
Thea Augustina Eck established Hosta Designs in late 2016. It bloomed from an unexpected life transition that forced her to reflect on her daily practices and enjoyments. Trained as a conceptual installation artist as well as in digital fabrication, Thea finds solace in integrating wood with current digital practices.
Every purchase made is an act in manifesting kindness out into the world. Hosta Designs donates 1-5% of sales each month to a Michigan nonprofit.
